The Integrated Systems Facility in the Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Missouri Rolla is a state-of-the-art 5000 square feet facility housing several workcells with over $500,000 worth of modern manufacturing equipment. The facility aims to provide an excellent foundation for undergraduate and graduate level courses, MS and PhD theses, and research. Education:
ISF provides a strong educational background in the areas of manufacturing processes, computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), quality assurance and control, process planning, scheduling, shop floor control, automation in manufacturing, computer integrated manufacturing, and flexible manufacturing systems.


Research:

Automation and integration in manufacturing is the major focus of research and development at the Integrated Systems Facility. In this scope, ISF deals with a wide spectrum of research from product modeling to shop floor control that deepens the understanding of processes and systems in today’s complex manufacturing environment. The research carried out at the Integrated System Facility is anticipated to make both the local and state-manufacturing base more competitive by increasing the rate of innovation and responsiveness to changing needs.
