The NAQT Sectionals were held on Saturday, February 10th 2001 at Wichita State University in (you guessed it) Wichita, Kansas. UMR sent one team, comprised of Paul Nelson, Nathan Mundis, Kyle DePew, and Jonathan Livengood. UMR participated in the Division 2 portion of the tournament (undergrads only, no players with three years of experience at the college level). That portion of the tournament was held as a single round robin between 12 teams, resulting in 11 games per team, plus a final round. The results for the UMR team are as follows:

# Round 2: Played Independence, won 160 to 40.

# Round 4: Played Oklahoma C, lost 225 to 130.
# Round 5: Played Ft. Scott B, won 330 to -5.
# Round 6: Played Ft. Scott A, won 200 to 20.
# Round 7: Played Butler A, won 205 to 15.
# Round 8: Bye
# Round 9: Played Arkansas B, won 200 to 25.
# Round 10: Played Hutchinson A, won 285 to 30.
# Round 11: Played Cowley, won 265 to 55.
# Round 12: Played Hutchinson B, won 345 to 5.
# Round 13: Played Butler B, Won 305 to 40.
# Round 14: Bye
# Round 15: Played Oklahoma C, Won 200 to 150.
# Tiebreaker: Played Oklahoma C, Won 215 to 100.
UMR came in first in the tournament, therefore proceeding to NAQT nationals.
