August 28, 2009: Rocky Horror Picture Show
We showed Rocky Horror Picture Show: an Interactive Experience in the Havener Center (with a costume contest). We had a great turn-out!
April 14-17, 2009: Week of the Day of Silence
Check out the above link for more information on all the events we put on during the week. Highlights included “Everyone’s a Shining Star,” a program designed to show how it feels to “come out,” LIVE HOMOSEXUAL ACTS, and a showing of the movie Milk.
February 13-15, 2009: MBLGTACC (alphabet soup)
We joined hundreds of BLGTA students from across the Midwest for the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference, the nation’s largest annual regional conference on queer issues, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
October, 2008: LGBT History Month
Check out the above link for more information, including a summary video of featured GLBT individuals. We showed highlights about these people throughout the month during meetings.
October 13-17, 2008: Ally Week
We gave out “gay? fine by me.™” t-shirts in Havener for a minimum $5 donation to the Trevor Project. Thanks to all of the allies that showed up! We'll be wearing our t-shirts on the second Wednesday of every month. Wear yours to show campus how many supporters we have!
October 6-10, 2008: National Coming Out Week
We had a booth in Havener on Monday and Friday, focusing on the different letters of LGBT. On Monday and Wednesday, we wrote chalkings on the sidewalks of campus to promote discussion on the topic of sexual orientation. Thanks to everyone who showed their support and/or came out! Congratulations!
September 17, 2008: Constitution Day

April 25, 2008: Day Of Silence
We had a table at the Havener Center Atrium all week, as well as hosting “Live Homosexual Acts!” on Wednesday. On Friday we were silent between the hours of 8:00am–5:00pm to protest discrimination, harassment, and abuse.
March 2, 2008: Pizza Inn Fundraiser
We held a fundraiser at Pizza Inn to raise money to support cultural diversity programs here on campus at Missouri University of Science and Technology. We took orders, filled drinks, and bussed tables from 5:00pm–8:00pm. Thanks to everyone who came out to support diversity!
February 22-24, 2008: MBLGTACC
MBLGTACC: The Midwest Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, and Ally College Conference. A group of DaVinci members made it to MBLGTACC-08 and had an awesome time! We networked with other colleges and got some fresh ideas for programming and fundraising ideas. On Saturday night, there was a dance and pool party. We will be attending again next year—at Indiana University.
December 6, 2007: HoliGAY!
We had a potluck dinner, made gingerbread houses, watched a movie, and had a fun time!
November 26-30, 2007: AIDS Awareness Week
All week we had a presence in the Havener Center Atrium from 8:00am–7:00pm with information on safe sex, AIDS awareness, STD prevention, and the AIDS quilt. A section of the quilt was on display in the Havener Center Atrium.
We also hosted speakers every day from 12:00pm–1:00pm in the Gasconade Room in the Havener Center, and free oral HIV testing on Monday and Thursday.
Thanks to everyone who guarded the AIDS quilt and made this event possible!
November 15, 2007: Transgender Day of Rememberance
We held a candle light vigil to memorialize those who have been unjustly killed due to anti-transgender hatred and prejudice.
