SUGGESTED EXPERIMENT

OPERATIONS:

1. The buttons MASS and VOLUME switch between
a balance for mass measurements and a cylinder filled
with a greenish liquid for volume measurements.

2. The UP/DOWN arrows increase/decrease the number
of beads to be delivered for a measurement.

3. The DELIVER button adds the selected number of
beads for mass or volume measurements.

4. The DUMP BEADS button removes all beads that
have been delivered and prepares a new selection
of randomly-selected beads. The amount of
     liquid in the cylinder changes.

5. The SAVE BEADS button removes all beads that
have been delivered but retains the same group of
     beads in the same order.

6. The TARE bar resets the balance reading to zero.

7. The EYE can be dragged up or down to show a
magnified view of the graduated tube.

MASS MEASUREMENTS:

1. DUMP BEADS.

2. Click on the TARE bar on the balance.

3. DELIVER the desired number of beads.

4. Record the balance reading.

5. TARE the balance.

6. Repeat steps 2 - 5.

VOLUME MEASUREMENTS:

1. DUMP BEADS.

2. Click on the EYE and drag it to the position of
the meniscus in the tube. Center the meniscus in the
magnified view and read the graduated scale at the
     bottom of the meniscus.

3. Record the observed volume.

4. DELIVER the desired number of beads.

5. Repeat steps 2 - 4 and record the final reading.
