This collection is for my mother, Beth, and both of my fathers, Floyd and George. The ghazals in this collection were written over a period of several years. The ghazal as a form is still in the process of being adapted into English. Because of the fluid situation, there is controversy over what ghazals in English should be. My suggestions for ghazals in English can be found in this essay. For better or worse, these ghazals would not exist without Lynx. I first learned about ghazals in a short note in Lynx under Terri Lee Grell's editorship. Since Jane and Werner Reichhold began publishing it, Lynx has been very hospitable to ghazals by me and others. (And I won't forget Jane's willingness to include ghazals in Mirrors when it was in her charge.)
