I
am an assistant professor in the Department
of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental
Engineering at Missouri University of Science
and Technology, where I have been on the
faculty since 2004. I received my B.S. in
Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University
in 1995, M.S. and Ph.D., both in Civil Engineering,
at the University of Colorado at Boulder,
in 2000 and 2003. |
My research interests fall into
the areas of 1. Constitutive Modeling and Computational
Mechanics; 2. Innovative Geotechnical Testing;
3. Nano-geomechanics, Bio-geomechanics and Geo-Environmental
Sustainability.
In teaching, I mainly teach undergraduate
courses in geotechnical engineering and foundation
engineering. I also teach graduate courses in
soil dynamics, finite element methods, and advanced
soil mechanics. At Missouri S&T, I currently
serve as the departmental representative in Faculty
Senates and a member of the CArE departmental
undergraduate program committee. Professionally,
I am a member of the Soils and Rock Instrumentation
Committee of Transportation Research Board (TRB)
and Soil Properties and Modeling Committee and
Unsaturated Soils Committee of Geo-Institute of
American Society of Civil Engineerings (ASCE).
