Mare D’Irlanda IV

      by Giancarlo Scapin
darker  than Sapphire
frames waves
of lighter blue
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
or do these waves
crest green?
or blue?
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
out of time
waves undulate
the raised plane
of kiln-fired
seeramic
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
waves of the green-
blue Irish Sea
one after another
one upon another
stirred once
in fire
and now
by silent wind
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
the waves’ amplitude
still determined
as by
the wind-
wound Sea,
their frequency
chimes in chop
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
these waves
do not break
but blow
through green-
blue glaze
framed darker
by Sapphire
beyond
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
be-
calmed by Giancarlo’s
deep-trenched hands,
the storm stills
in this marveled-matter
moment
yet curls green
in comprehending
azure
