The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Studies is to improve the learning environment and enhance the learning outcomes of students
by working with Missouri S&T students, faculty, staff and the public.

Short Biographical Information:

Dr. Jeffrey Cawlfield is the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Geological Engineering at Missouri S&T. He has over twenty-five years of experience in conducting and promoting undergraduate success and graduate research. He served as the Director of the Freshmen Engineering Program at Missouri S&T for a number of years and worked with the Division of Undergraduate Studies to promote undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities for undergraduates. He leads a team whose focus is on applying collaborative, technology enhanced and experiential learning themes to student and faculty engagement in order to improve academic excellence and to assist Missouri S&T in its strategic goals of student success and persistence to degree completion.

Professional Preparation:

1987 Ph.D. and 1984 M.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley
1981 B.S. in Civil Engineering at Washington State University
