NRHH Activities & Events

 

NRHH MEMBERS

Leadership Trip:Leadership Trip is used to train both incoming and upcoming leaders in the halls. Its one of NRHH's oldest traditions and one of it's most famous, winning the National Student Award for Leadership Training at NACURH 2010.

Leadership Lock-In: Lock-In is the follow-up event to Leadership Trip held in the beginning of the Spring Semester. It's used to reconnect with all of our residence hall leaders and teach them the next step of making a difference in the halls.

NRHH Photo Archive: The Photo Archive is a collection of all past photos taken of NRHH and other hall events. This resource is updated with the assistance of the Shamrock Chapter members who collect photos of programs and events each year.

Hall Association & RA Relations: All members regularly attend Hall Association and Resident Assistant staff meetings giving NRHH reports, helping to give insight to members on issues, and offering Leadership Development activities.

 

Committees: The Shamrock Chapter holds up to three tenants, each tenant hosting its own active committee in the organizaiton. These tenants are to PROMOTE NRHH and its standing principals, DEVELOP up and coming leaders for the future of the residence halls, and RECOGNIZE those who work to make a difference for our students. For each tenant in NRHH, their exists a committee that actively works to fulfill the organization's purpose within the halls. Below you will find a list of activities and events run by NRHH, each with their own purpose in strengthening the halls and/or strengthening NRHH as an organization.

 

PROMOTE

Alumni Relations: The Promote committee is responsible for maintaining alumni relations and alumni related events.

Alumni Newsletters: These newsletters are designed to promote the progress of the NRHH Shamrock Chapter. After each release the most updated newsletter will be posted under this link.

Public Relations: The Promote committee is responsible for handling all chapter advertising and promotion.

Concession Stands: NRHH works each year at the concessions of each home football game. This fundraiser helps to raise money for Leadership Trip and you can find many members, including alumni, who come to help serve the fans of Missouri S&T.

Semester Fundraiser: Each semster the Promote committee with be responsible for organizing a fundraiser to benefit the chapter.

Resident Event: Each year this committee shall organize at least one resident focused event.

Webmaster: The promote committee will assist the webmaster, if needed, in the chapter website maintenance.

 

DEVELOP

NRHH Retreat: This retreat is what follows every NRHH Induction. NRHH and its members take time to hang out, get cozy, and then discuss the future of NRHH one on one with the perspectives of both outgoing and incoming members.

Support Programming: Develop committee members sponsor, host, and support programming in teh residence halls.

Development Program: Develop shall excecute at least one developmental program a semester for both hall government members and resident
assistants.

NRHH Development Programs: This committee shall implement at least two developmental programs a semester focused on
developing the professional and interpersonal skills of the NRHH body.

Special Interest Programming: Develop is also charged with volunteering with campus events and setting up programs used for special interest review. These can include, but are not limited to, Blarney Bash, program/bid/sra presentation reviews, bid editing, etc.

Refrigerator Replacement: NRHH works with the Department of Residential Life to replace fridges for residents within the halls. If you need a fridge replaced, e-mail nrhh@mst.edu with your name, hall and room, phone number, and the best times to get a hold of you. We will contact you and work out the best time to replace your fridge.

 

RECOGNIZE

Of The Month Awards (OTMS): An OTM is a way of giving recognition to a deserving individual(s) that have worked hard on improving or enhancing a students experience in the residence halls. The committee is responsidble for coordinating OTMs and OTM presentations
for hall gov meetings

Recognition Bulliten Boards: Recognition Posters can be found at an open location in each hall. Each month NRHH updates these posters with OTM winners, NRHH news, and hall recognition updates.

Regional & National Bids: Each year the Shamrock Chapter will pick and choose selected bids to write for recognition on the regional and national level. Follow the link to find a list of our past winning awards.

Recognition Days: About once a month NRHH members go around recognizing those who make difference in the halls. Whether we're recognizing cafeteria workers, custodians, professional staff, or even student leaders NRHH goes out of its way to make these individuals feel special.

Finals Kits: Finals Kits are a way NRHH recognizes hall leaders for what they've done as well as well as help to promote their academics. These are handed out at the end of each semester during Dead Week, right before finals.

Fall Project: The committee shall complete a fall fundraiser or community service project to be decided upon by the committee
based upon the needs of the chapter.
