The Miners in Space - Batteries team is
composed students from a variety of departments, including
Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and
Chemical Engineering, and Computer Engineering
Kathy Gallagher
Kathy Gallagher is the team leader for
the Miners in Space - Batteries team. She is a senior in
Aerospace Engineering. Active on campus, she is currently
performing research for the two tethered microsatellites being
designed and constructed at the Space Systems Engineering Lab;
specifically, she is the head of the power subsystem and is
working with the solar cells and batteries for the
microsatellites. In addition, Kathy is is a member of Tau Beta Pi
and Christian Campus Fellowship. Kathy enjoys playing the piano
and flute, collecting magnets, and anything that has to do with
the Lord of the Rings.
David Goben
David Goben is a senior in Computer
Engineering. He is actively involved in Christian Campus
Fellowship and enjoys the theater. David is also an Eagle Scout
of Boy Scouts of America. He is currently working at Brewer
Science, Inc. in Rolla, MO as a Software Intern. David likes to
mess around on his computer, play video games, watch movies,
listen to music, and play with model trains.
Norman Horn
Norman Horn is a double major in Chemical
Engineering and Chemistry. His research projects have
included radiation chemistry, kinetics of beta-carotene
reactions, analytical chemistry projects, and some coatings work
on the side. He is very interested in learning more about
all forms of chemistry and chemical technology, and hopes to go
to grad school for a doctorate in Chemical Engineering.
Norman enjoys singing, playing classical guitar, and studying
other music in his free time.
Tyler Winter
Tyler Winter is a freshman in Aerospace
Engineering. He has always been interested in airplanes, rockets,
and anything that flies. Tyler's interest of designing and
understanding these things is the main reason why he selected
Aerospace Engineering as his major. He is a member of AIAA, Chess
Club, and MAA. Tyler enjoys math, science, astronomy, planes,
rockets, the idea of time travel, computers, golf, and watching
movies.
Bharath Chandra
Bharath Chandra is a graduate student in
Chemical Engineering.
Chris Suda
Chris Suda is a junior in Mechanical
Engineering.
Prakash Wadhwa
Prakash Wadhwa is a graduate student in
Chemical Engineering.
Jared Wight
Jared Wight is a junior in Aerospace
Engineering.
Dr. Henry Pernicka
Dr. Pernicka is an Aerospace Engineering
professor and the faculty advisor for the group. |
