In the welding lab, members of the team from the University of Missouri-Rolla that will be conducting an experiment aboard NASA's KC-135 "vomit comet" aircraft are, from left: front row, James Dymott, Adam Gorrell and Kathy Gallagher; middle row, David Harris and Mike Dancer; back row, Regan Tackett, Jason Gallagher, Dr. Hank Pernicka, James Tinsley and Dr. Hai-Lung Tsai.

Mike Dancer
Mike Dancer is a Junior at the University of Missouri-Rolla and is majoring in Aerospace Engineering, and he is originally from Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He has been fascinated with aeronautics and astronautics since he was three years old, and as a 14th birthday present, his parents paid for his first flying lesson. He enjoys designing, building and launching model rockets, playing computer games, and taking his fiancée out to dinner and a movie. He is a member of the UMR Concrete Canoe Team and is currently working on the Hull Design Committee. He hopes to someday finish his flight training and receive his pilot's license. Upon graduation, he plans on working for NASA and hopes to fly into space.

Jason Gallagher
Jason Gallagher has lived in the Rolla area for his entire life. Some of his hobbies include Corvettes and airplanes; he plans on getting his pilot’s license someday. Jason was very involved with Boy Scouts and even earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is currently a freshman in Aerospace Engineering.

Kathy Gallagher
Kathy Gallagher is a senior in Aerospace Engineering. Active on campus, she is currently performing research for the power subsystem of two tethered satellites being designed and built by the Space Systems Engineering Lab. In addition, Kathy is the Cataloguer/Bylaws chair for Tau Beta Pi and is a member of Christian Campus Fellowship and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Kathy enjoys playing the piano and flute, collecting magnets, and anything that has to do with the Lord of the Rings.

R. Adam Gorrell
    R. Adam Gorrell is a first year senior at the University of Missouri - Rolla (UMR). He is majoring in Aerospace Engineering and hopes to go on to do astronaut work. Also, Adam is the Operations Group Squadron Commander for Detachment 442, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at UMR. He is a private pilot and enjoys flying when it is possible. Adam is also an active member of the UMR Baptist Student Union attending conferences and getaways. Other hobbies include: study on special relativity and quantum mechanics, going to the movies, taking distant vacations and trips, playing the guitar, and scenic and personal photography. His ambitions are to commission into the United States Air Force in May of 2004, go on to fly fighter aircraft, then to test pilot, and get picked up for the Astronaut Corps while test piloting.

David Harris
David Harris is a junior at UMR and is majoring in Aerospace Engineering. He hails from Cameron, a small town in northwestern Missouri. His interests include reading about technology and history, building models of aircraft and other vehicles, and playing computer games (though hopefully he will soon grow out of that). He has not yet finalized his post-graduation plans, though they could include becoming a practicing engineer for Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, or NASA.

James Tinsley
James Tinsley is a Junior at UMR pursuing a double BS in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on propulsion. He is a member of the Advanced Aero Vehicle Group, a team which will be competing in an SAE heavy lift competition in Dayton, Ohio at the end of the school year; he is on the group in charge of propulsion as well as stability and control. After he graduates he plans to pursue a Masters and finally a Ph. D in Aerospace Engineering or Physics, yet to be determined. With this knowledge, he plans to be a professor of Aerospace Engineering or Physics at a university also yet to be determined. A few of his hobbies are computer programming, r/c airplane building, automobile repair and restoration, and video games.

Dr. Henry Pernicka
Dr. Pernicka is an Aerospace Engineering professor and the faculty advisor for the group.
