Miners in Space is a Missouri S&T student organization dedicated to conducting
research in microgravity. We have performed welding experiments aboard NASA's Weightless Wonder research aircraft in 2003, 2005, and 2007,
as part of the Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program (RGSFOP) hosted by NASA Johnson Space Center. Learn more about the program.
Selected teams spend two weeks in Houston, Texas, and are provided with two separate flights to conduct testing. Undergraduate students are eligible to fly.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Miners in Space team, meetings are held every Tuesday @ 7:00 p.m. in ME 216 and every Wednesday @ 4:15 p.m. in ME 216. For additional information, contact the weld team president, Michelle Rader, at mkrgf3@umr.edu or the thrusters team president, Joe Siebert, at j.r.siebert@umr.edu.
