Great Pumpkin
Every year young trick-or-treaters of
Rolla are welcomed by an unusual face. As a tradition at Sigma Pi,
each year an unusually large pumpkin is obtained, carved, and
outfitted with a public address system which is used to greet and tell
jokes to young ghouls and goblins. This year, the 47th anniversary of
the tradition, was no different, with children and parents enjoying
the pumpkin, candy, and other refreshments. We hope to see them all
again next year. |

Outhouse Burning
Years back a
rebellion happened on campus against a policy long forgotten now. An
outhouse was burned on the chancellors front lawn to show how the
students felt about the policy. Today, things have changed, and we
continue this tradition in peace at a campus designated area. We
built a full size outhouse this year, and watched it burn while
enjoying some hot cocoa and s’mores, |

Homecoming
MS&T Homecoming at Sigma Pi is always well anticipated each year. Homecoming generally is a good time for alumni to come back, visit, and
enjoy memories. The brothers can be found at the MS&T football or
rugby games, watching the homecoming parade, or just relaxing with
some old friends. No matter what we are doing, it is certain we will
be having a wonderful time. |

Greek Week
Every year, MS&T’s
Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council sponsor an event of
games and activities for MS&T greeks to compete. Two weekends of
track and field events, along with a week of games, contests, and
service projects comprise this much anticipated spectacle. This year,
we ended up in 2nd out of 21 when all was said and done. |

ACE Project
Sigma Pi has a
long standing philanthropy tradition which is upheld nationwide each
year by chapters individually. UMR happily accepted
our proposal this year, which was to go through the weight training
rooms at the Multipurpose center and give them a good cleaning. We
hope to continue helping out our campus in the years to come.
