The House
Sigma
Pi has a main house and two
annexes three blocks from campus
on 12th street.
We are located next
to
the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Sigma Nu Fraternity houses.
We
recently renovated the main
house
and one annex. The second
is
planned for demolition in the near
future with
a new 20 bed annex to be
built
soon after.

Incoming
students are the future success of Sigma Pi. We are always looking for
more quality men to continue the excellence of our fraternity. Deciding
which fraternity to rush will probably be the biggest decision of your
college career. The men of Sigma Pi recommend that you go through the
entire rush process with an open mind, be yourself, and find where you fit
in. At Sigma Pi, we take pride in being the best fraternity at MST and we
believe strongly in five aspects of college life: brotherhood,
scholarship, social
activity, athletics, and campus/community involvement. Take a
minute to read the following and see why Sigma Pi is the right decision. |
|
Brotherhood
Brotherhood and
the strong bond between our actives is what makes Sigma Pi different from
other fraternities on campus. Although we are not the largest fraternity
on campus, we continue to keep the strongest brotherhood. This feeling
needs to be experienced personally, our members always remain a very tight
group. |
|
Scholarship
Sigma Pi has always been known for making
the grades. Studying hard for that early exam the next morning is not a
problem due to our quiet hours policy which spans from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
on every weeknight. Also, many of the older brothers are readily available
for any needed assistance in a class. We keep a library of class files
from previous semesters to assist in giving the greatest opportunity for
success. In the spring 2009 semester we had the second highest overall
grade point average of all of the fraternities on campus.
With various awards presented at our semesterly scholarship dinner,
members have many incentives to pursue high grades. All new members are
eligible for receiving scholarships totaling over $100,000 each year from
our Chapter and National Educational Foundations.

Social Activity
With a social calendar that is possibly the best in Rolla, we definitely
know how to have a good time. In this way we break the Rolla reputation by
creating reasons for staying in town on the weekends. We try to have at
least one social event a week - exchanges with MSU, Mizzou, and even
Truman sororities, theme socials and mixers, formal dances, parties, and
brotherhood events fill many weeks of every semester. |
|
Athletics
Sigma Pi participates in every intramural sport and we are always
competitive. Without exception, we have all our members on the sidelines
cheering our brothers. Every year we are in the running for the
championship. We are also strong competitors during Greek Week
and St. Pat's games having gotten second overall in the 2009 Greek Week
Championship We also have current
and former athletes from various MST varsity and club teams. |
|
Campus/Community
Involvement
On campus, Sigma Pi's are known for their involvement and as leaders. Each
member is required to join at least two campus organizations, and we have
executive officers in numerous organizations. Every semester,
every active helps participate in multiple community service projects.
Working with Linking Hearts, the Russell House, Red Cross, Salvation Army,
and the Sam Spady Foundation, we strive to provide our community with a better
future. |
