Welcome to the Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) clearinghouse! Besides hosting an extensive ART bibliography, this site also offers an easy introduction to ART by discussing and illustrating the ART-1 neural network. ART-1 is the first member of the ART family of neural networks. Some of the other members will be mentioned and a glossary of ART terminology provided. Further there are links to ART software and other ART related web sites.

This site replaces the former Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) Neural Network FAQ Site which was founded by Guszti Bartfai and Daniel Tauritz in October 1995. Guszti Bartfai, who was at that time a professor at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, provided the bulk of the material for the original site.

To appreciate this site, and ART in general, it is probably necessary that you have at least a limited understanding of neural networks. The general neural network FAQ is at ftp://ftp.sas.com/pub/neural/FAQ.html
