Tau Beta Sigma History
Tau Beta Sigma was established as a sorority for bandswomen in 1939 at Texas Tech University. On March 26, 1946, the sorority became a national organization when the band club at Oklahoma State University became the Alpha Chapter. On May 4, 1946, the Texas Tech women became the Beta Chapter. Delta Xi Vision Statement
To provide musical enrichment to the University of Missouri - Rolla campus and to the surrounding community. To create an organization that focuses on individuals with hearts of service and love of bands. To continue serving with our Delta Gamma, Kappa Kappa Psi brothers.
Delta Xi Mission Statement
The Delta Xi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma provides service above and beyond our normal boundaries of the UMR bands and the community. This is accomplished through the education of prospective and active members of the history and of the ideals of Tau Beta Sigma, and maintaining open lines of communications with all members, past and present, of Delta Xi, TBS and Delta Gamma, KKY.
