Initiation Weekend

November 8, 2010

We congratulate Nicholas Kahmke - AY 578, Lewis Buchanan - AY 579, & Joshua Warner - AY 580 on their entrance to the Theta Xi Fraternity, bringing new life and vigor to the house.

The active members of the house also appreciate the alumni who stopped by to share in this occasion and the valuable advice they have imparted. We look forward to an even greater alumni involvement with the construction of a new facility in our near future (more information on the alumni page). It is the hope of all brothers that the bonds we form in Theta Xi will never weaken or break.

Initiation Weekend

October 25, 2010

The Alpha Psi chapter of the Theta Xi fraternity humbly asks that all available alumni come to Rolla to see the house and congratulate the freshly initiated members the weekend of November 6th 2010. There will be an Alumni active meeting as well as a conference call that weekend further discussing the progress and next steps toward a new fraternity house at the current location and the current state of the house. Significant progress has been made toward the start of the new house project and we ask that all members past and present get involved. It will also be a chance to reconnect with brothers and with Theta Xi as a whole seeing those people and traditions that you may not have seen for some time.

YITB,

Active members of Alpha Psi.

Homecoming Weekend

October 02, 2010

At the annual Alumni-Active Meeting that occurred on October 2; new Alumni Association officers were elected, the state of the house and its future were discussed, and Aaron Trenshaw gave a presentation about the possibility of building a new house in the near future. After the presentation the issue was discussed to great detail; a decision was made to pursue the idea further by getting quotes on design and engineering of the project. After the meeting, the Active Members and Associate Members enjoyed the annual house football game with some assistance from our alumni.
We thank all of the distinguished Alumnus that attended the meeting an came to enjoy the weekend with the actives of the house.

Congratulations on Grades

(June 21, 2010)

I would like to congradulate the Alpha Psi Chapter of Theta Xi on another successful semester in grades. We have again beat the All Men Campus GPA, as well as the All Greek GPA this past spring, continuing the trend from previous semesters.

Greek Plan for Success

(April 22, 2010)

The Greek Plan for Success (GPS) has actually been in place for several years now. However it was very basic and vague in most areas. Last fall (2009) Campus and IFC began working to clean it up and actually make it a mandatory requirement for all fraternities and sororities on campus. It was voted into place late in the semester and the race was on to achieve high marks.

The GPS is divided into 5 criteria that must be met to a minimum of level one. The criteria reviewed are: Campus Involvement, Member Development, Scholarship, Philanthropy, and Leadership. Each criteria is broken up into levels one (1) through three (3), one (1) being the lowest, and three (3) the highest.

The GPS is not designed to pit chapters against each other, or to be used as propaganda, as much as it is to assure that chapters are on the right track to staying successful. Chapters achieving level three are awarded due recognition, and as such, chapters not achieving a minimum of level one will be reprimanded, and if not corrected, will be placed on a guided path to get back on track.

As of Spring 2010, the Alpha Psi chapter of Theta Xi achieved level three in both Scholarship and Member Development. For more information on the GPS go to Greek Plan for Success.

Theta Xi - Newman Wood-cuts

(April 21, 2010)

The first Theta Xi - Newman Wood-cut was a success with a group of young men and women collecting donations of both split wood, as well as rough timber, to be added to the Newman stockpile. This stockpile will greatly ease the burden of collection later in the year.

Theta Xi First Annual Crawfish Boil

(April 11, 2010)

We are Proud to announce our upcoming Philanthropy event benefiting Multiple Sclerosis Research. It will be on the 18th of April at Lions Park Pavilions in Rolla MO from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Come out and support our cause and eat some good food.

Newman Center Partnership

(April 11, 2010)

The Alpha Psi Chapter of the Theta Xi Fraternity has teamed up with The Newman Center in an effort to help those in need. Our two organizations will work in tandem to acquire a large amount of wood so that more people can be helped. These wood cuts benefit those who are unable to secure an ample wood supply to heat their homes in the winter months. If you are interested in helping our cause it would be greatly appreciated.
