Congratulations on your acceptance to University of Missouri - Rolla. You will have to make many decisions in the upcoming months that will be very important for the duration of your college career. Perhaps the most important choice that you will make will be the selection of your living accommodations. I am sure that you have received many brochures about the various housing opportunities available at UMR. Due to the university's freshman - sophomore live-in rule, all freshman and sophomores must live in university approved housing. This gives you two options: dormitories or fraternities. The dormitories are expensive and social life is at a minimum. Also, friendships are difficult to form, as there is no close bond, such as brotherhood, to unite men together.

Triangle's membership is limited to engineers, architects, and scientists; thereby offering new students the unique opportunity to associate with others studying similar disciplines at all stages of their education, and also the chance to meet practicing engineers who are alumni. This association is beneficial to new students who can turn to older members for help in dealing with particularly difficult courses or teachers. It is also helpful to graduating students looking for employment and to alumni members who can enjoy a special comradery among their colleagues, who are brothers.

Triangle is a national fraternity with thirty-three chapters and over 18,000 members.

Many opportunities exist here at Triangle for men desiring to take an active part in their university life. Leadership abilities are honed and team effort developed when brothers work together on service projects, intramural sports, and the day to day life of the chapter home. Additionally, special events such as Homecoming, Christmas Party, St. Pat's, and Greek Week allow ample opportunity for everyone to relax from academic endeavors.

Due to substantial damage suffered in a fire in early 1988, our house was reconstructed. The old house design of a late 19th Century hunting lodge was kept intact, giving the new house a rustic feel with many modern conveniences. With over 70 years of tradition, and a new facility with a home-like atmosphere, we feel that Triangle Fraternity would be a fine choice. If you have any questions, call us at (573) 364-8968 or email triangle@umr.edu. Feel free to call at any time. We hope to hear from you soon.
