Lecture 4: Two-dimensional Kinematics

Objectives: In this lecture, students will learn to
  • generalize velocity and acceleration to two dimensions
  • separate x- and y-direction of motion
  • explain the behavior of acceleration and velocity components in projectile motion
  • derive the parabolic shape of the free-fall trajectory
  • use constant acceleration kinematics to solve 2-d problems
