This is how the Phelps County Courthouse looked in the late 1800s. We are working to restore the building to this appearance.
The Old Courthouse is located at 305 Third Street in Rolla, Missouri.
The Old Courthouse Preservation Committee is permanent committee of the Phelps County Historical Society, which owns the building.

On Saturday, 9 December 2006, we celebrated "Christmas at the Courthouse" before the annual Downtown Rolla Christmas Parade. The Old Courthouse was open for refreshments and entertainment.
Phelps County's other "heritage" organizations have web pages, too. They are the Phelps County Genealogical Society, which has an office in the Old Courthouse. There's also a lot of Phelps County history in the the University of Missouri/State Historical Society of Missouri Western Historical Manuscript Collection-Rolla. From 1926 to the late 1970s, Phelps County was traversed by historic Route 66.
