This is a record book kept by the district clerk of Yeager School in eastern Benton County, Missouri.

 

Yeager School was located just north of the Lake of the Ozarks, and was assigned district number 64.  This district clerk’s record book contains several categories of entries, among which are minutes of meetings of the district’s directors, financial statements, lists of taxpayers and stu­dents, and annual reports on the district.

 

Enclosed in the front of the volume is a map of school districts in Benton County, Missouri, and a newspaper clipping (1949) showing a proposed reorganization and reduction in number of rural school districts from 87 to 6.  The plan was not approved.
