These are minutes of the eighth annual meeting of the Union Association, which was com­posed of Regular Baptist churches in Ozark County, Missouri, and Fulton and Marion counties in Ar­kansas.  The minutes include the constitution, articles of faith, rules of decorum, and member­ship statistics.

 

The Union Association was formed in 1847 by churches along the Missouri-Arkansas bor­der.  By the time of its eighth annual meeting, it had added “Predestinarian” to its title.  Elder J. M. Potter was chosen moderator of the meeting, which included delegates from seven churches rep­re­senting 123 members.  John Brown, from the Little Piney Association of Regu­lar Baptists, at­tended the meeting as a representative of that association.
