The Lebanon Nature Club published its first newsletter on 5 September 1934.  Frances E. Gleason was the editor through 9 October 1935, followed by George E. Moore.  Members who are noted frequently in the newsletters include Lulu Babb, Ernst Beck, Lillian Cook, W. I. Diffenderfer, A. P. Draper, Dr. and Mrs. James Hyslop, Mrs. C. F. Lippman, Alice and Margery Winkler, and Inez Smith.  During the period 1934-1940 members of the society reported sightings to the Biology Department of the University of Missouri, organized Arbor Day ceremonies at Lebanon, and conducted field meets at Hahatonka and Maramec Spring.  The latter were often held in conjunction with the Southwest Missouri chapter of the Audubon Society.
