These are pamphlet yearbooks of the Lebanon Woman’s Club at Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri, 1950-1964.  The yearbooks include lists of officers and members, the constitution and by-laws, committee assignments, and program topics.  With the collection is a yearbook of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Lebanon, 1935-1936.

The Lebanon Woman’s Club was organized by Mrs. Mary P. Wallace in 1898 as the Home Economics Club.  The name was changed to the Domestic Science Club and the group became affiliated with the Missouri Federation of Women’s Clubs in 1900.  It became the Lebanon Woman’s Club sometime between 1943 and 1950.  The goals of the club were to improve conditions in health and homes, to encourage the teaching of domestic science in the schools, to promote cooperation between mothers and teachers, and to increase awareness of civic affairs.  The club met bi-weekly for discussions on household and civic affairs.

The yearbooks of the Lebanon Woman’s Club complement those of the Domestic Science Club (See Western Historical Manuscript Collection-Rolla collection number R297.).  Both sets were removed from the records of the Shakespeare Club of Lebanon, which received them through an exchange program.  The practice probably accounts for the single yearbook of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, also of Lebanon.
