This is an account book of Pierre Sabourin of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.  The first section is a record of an unidentified mercantile operation, 1 May 1830 to 9 August 1830.  The second section, 9 June 1831 to 4 April 1832, concerns the buying and selling of planks, primarily with the firms of Menard & Valle and Valle & Griffard of Ste. Genevieve.

The account book contains two sections, each detailing a separate business venture.  The first section includes the records of individual accounts at what was probably a general merchandise operation.  Purchases are described only as “sundries.”  This part of the volume consists of thirty‑four pages, preceded by an index.  The second section of the volume includes a record of the trade in planks conducted by Pierre Sabourin with the firms Menard & Valle and Valle & Griffard.  There are seven pages of records, unpaginated and without an index.

An earlier account and plank book of P. Sabourin & Company, 1830‑1831, has been microfilmed by the State Historical Society of Missouri as part of Roll 11 of the Ste. Genevieve Archives (C3606).
