These are photographs of the mill at the Bumble Bee Mine near Joplin in Jasper County, Mis­souri.  Included are views of the landowner, miners, buildings, tailings pile, and wagon loads of zinc ore being loaded on railroad cars.  The photographs have been copied on 35mm slides.

 

1. Bumble Bee Mine, ca. 1902‑1903

“A core of 6 hand jiggs [sic], 29 employees [sic] ‑‑ all hand work steam hoister (Free­man friction).”
