This is “The History of 90 Years of Linn Creek Methodist Church, from 1874 to 1964,” compiled by Mrs. F. L. Ridenour.  The congregation was formed in 1874 and officially organized in 1882.  In 1930 the church moved to higher ground as a result of the construction of Lake of the Ozarks.

The original location of the church was in “old” Linn Creek on the Osage River.  The new church building in “new” Linn Creek incorporated many of the fixtures (including the “art glass windows”) from the previous building.

In 1963 a new Methodist congregation was organized, largely from the membership at Linn Creek, for the nearby county seat of Camdenton.  However, since the Camdenton group lacked a church building, it met jointly with the Linn Creek congregation, sharing Linn Creek's facilities and ministry.  Separate membership rolls were maintained, with Linn Creek counting 176 full members and Camdenton 130 in 1964.

Included are photographs of the three church buildings.
