R Rozier, Francis Claude, 1816‑1879.
465 Financial journal, 1875‑1891.
One volume.
This volume is a financial journal kept
by Francis Claude Rozier of Ste. Genevieve,
The initial date in the journal is 9
January 1875, and the first entries provide a summary of F. C. Rozier’s assets,
including real estate, shares of stock, bonds, and notes. The real estate, also described in
collection #R461, included land in Ste. Genevieve city and county, St. Louis
city, Iron, Perry, and Washington counties in Missouri, Ringgold County, Iowa,
and Liberty County, Texas. On that date
the real estate was valued at over $108,000.
F. C. Rozier owned stock in the Valle Mining Company, Merchants’ National
Bank, Missouri State National Bank, Carondelet Zinc Works, the St. Francois
County Plank Road, American Central Insurance Company, and the Savings
Association of Ste. Genevieve, valued at $51,000. He also owned many bonds and held many notes
from other firms and individuals.
Subsequent entries detail specific transactions.
F. C. Rozier died on 8 May 1879, but the
volume continues virtually uninterrupted, albeit in a different hand, probably
that of H. L. Rozier. The last entry is
dated 18 April 1891. Many entries
concern the firm of Rozier & Jokerst, but this appears to be a personal
record of the Roziers’, and not that of the partnership.
