These are minutes of meetings of the Friendly Neighbors Club of the MWPFA, made up of women in the rural community around Dean School in Phelps County, Missouri.  Included are minutes of meetings from 14 November 1952 through 21 July 1955.  Meetings featured discus­sions of top­ics of rural concern, charitable contributions for needy children, and support for the fair board.

 

Seven to ten women, often accompanied by as many children, attended the weekly meetings of the Friendly Neighbors Club in the homes of members.  During the period covered by the min­utes, Mae McWhorter and Evelyn Smith were presidents of the club, and Nelda Chitwood was sec­retary.
