These are records of marriages performed by justices of the peace in Newton County, Mis­souri, 16 April 1874—3 April 1899.  Volume 1 contains records of marriages by David A. Chapel, W. H. Coleman, A. H. Duree, Josephus Hewett, William Jackson, and Wesley H. Warren in Shoal Creek Township.  Volume 2 includes marriages by A. P. DeGroff in Neosho Township.
