These are printed minutes of the annual meetings of the Southwest Bethel Association of Missionary Baptists, which was composed of churches in Christian, Stone, and Taney counties in Missouri.  The minutes include lists of affiliated churches, membership statistics, minutes of sessions, and the articles of faith.  Prior to 1885, the organization was known as the Southwest Bethel Association of United Baptists.

Most of the churches in the Southwest Bethel Association seem to have been in Christian County.  Among those which reported by delegate or letter were: Antioch, Bethel, Billings, Blooming Grove, Capernium, Elk Valley, Fairview, Landmark, Little Beaver, Mincy Valley, Mount Sinai, Ozark, Pleasant Hope, Prospect, Richwoods, Shady Grove, Smyrna, Sparta, Union Hill, Unity, and White Oak.  William E. Vaughn and E. Wray were the moderators of the annual sessions; John N. Adams was the clerk.  In 1885, the Association voted to drop the word  “United” in its name, and adopted “Missionary” in its stead.
