These are records of Harrison School in northeastern Phelps County, Missouri.  Included are the clerk’s minutes of annual meetings of the district and regular meetings of the directors; the clerk’s register of warrants issued; teacher’s registers of students, visitors, public programs, and grades; and teacher’s reports to the county superintendent.

 

District No. 3 (originally District No. 6), or the Harrison School district, encompassed area in northern Phelps County.  The district was bordered on the north by Gasconade County, on the south by the Bourbeuse River, on the west by Maries County, and on the east by the Red Bird school district.  The district was organized on 22 April 1909 at a meeting chaired by C. W. John­son.  In the ensuring elections, J. E. Vaughan was elected secretary of the district; Evert Harri­son, Stephen Lorts, and Jake Mitchell were elected directors.
