This is a brief historical sketch of the community of Rockview in Scott County, Missouri.  The sketch includes information on individuals, businesses, and buildings in the community.

The community at Rockview grew as a result of railroad construction in the late nineteenth century.  Rockview Post Office was established in 1902 along the Cotton Belt railroad tracks near a quarry used in construction of the railway.  Prior to location of the post office the area had been known as Rock Quarry and Stoney Point.  The Frisco railroad built through the area in 1900.  The crossing of the Cotton Belt tracks by the Frisco was known as Rockview Junction.  The community grew to include a depot and tower, a Methodist church, homes, a school, and several businesses.
