These are the records of the Rolla Local Council of Girl Scouts. Included are minutes of meetings, financial records, and miscellaneous papers. The collection begins with the organization of the local council in 1936 and continues through its reorganization in 1968 as part of the Dogwood Trails Council of Missouri.
Girl Scouting in Rolla began in 1934 with the organization of a troop of 60 girls by Mary Lee Johnson. The Rolla, Missouri Local Girl Scout Council was organized in 1936, and Mrs. David M. Donnan became the first commissioner. In 1938 the Rolla council became affiliated with the national Girl Scouts organization and received its first charter. Rolla was one of the last of the local councils. Its charter expired in 1968, but was extended through 31 August to facilitate reorganization as part of the Dogwood Trails regional council. The last meeting of the officers of the Rolla Girl Scout Council was held on 26 June 1968.

These records consist primarily of bound volumes containing the minutes of meetings and financial records. The earliest records are the constitution and bylaws of the Rolla, Missouri Local Council of Girl Scouts. The minutes begin with the first meeting of the Rolla Girl Scout Council in January 1936, and continue through 10 November 1971. The records of the treasurers begin in January 1939 and continue through May 1975. The collection also includes several folders of correspondence and miscellaneous materials, the most significant of which deals with the reorganization into the Dogwood Trails Council.
