These are records of School District No. 129 north of Eunice in eastern Texas County, Mis­souri, known as Pine Flat School.  Included are records of the district clerk, 1896-1924, teacher’s registers of attendance, 1909-1936, and reports of teachers to the county superintendent of schools, 1936-1941.

 

Pine Flat School was located in Township 29 and 30 North, Ranges 7 and 8 West in eastern Texas County.  Formerly School District No. 3, the district was redesignated District No. 129 in 1907.  The collection includes records kept by the district clerk, and those maintained by the teachers.  The records of the district clerk include minutes of annual meetings of the district and of the board of directors, teachers’ contracts, oaths of the directors, enumerations of students and taxpayers, and financial records.  There is a gap in the clerk’s records beginning in 1909 and con­tinuing into 1911.  The teachers’ records include registers of attendance and standing following the Welch System of supervision.  The records are complete from 1909 through 1936.  Also in­cluded in the records of Pine Flat School are reports by teachers to the county superintendent of schools, 1936-1941.
