These are the records of Daughters of Rebekah Fidelia Lodge in Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouri.  The records consist of minute books, 1896-1955, a financial record book, 1896-1929, membership account books, 1901-1943, and roll of officers, 1905-1949.

Fidelia Lodge No. 182 was organized on 10 March 1896 at Mount Vernon, Missouri.  Thirteen charter members elected Bettie Boyd as the first “Noble Grand,” and Addie Overton the first “Vice Grand.”  About fifteen active members attended the meetings through the years.  Meetings were at first weekly, then biweekly, and, finally, monthly.  They were held in the Odd Fellows Hall at Mount Vernon, for which the Rebekahs paid a third of the expenses of the building.

Minutes of meetings exist from the beginning of the lodge and continue through 7 June 1955.  Business transacted at meetings generally consisted of the acceptance, initiation, and transfer of members, elections and installations of officers, collection of dues, completion of degree work in the lodge, and appointments to the annual statewide Grand Assembly.  Charitable matters included assistance to needy children and members in financial distress, visitations of sick members, and contributions to the Odd Fellows Home in Liberty, Missouri.

The financial record book (Volume 6) includes notations of payment of dues by members and of various warrants issued.  Dues paid by each member are also recorded in the membership account books (Volumes 7-8).  In some cases in the membership records, the individual accounts include dates of initiation, transfer, withdrawal, and suspension, or dates of death.  Indexes to the membership accounts are in the front of the volumes.

The Roll of Officers (Volume 9) begins with the officers of the Daughters of Rebekah Maple Lodge No. 393 for 1905-1915, followed by those for the Fidelia Lodge, 1933-1949.  There is no explanation why records for the Maple Lodge are included in the volume.
