This volume contains records of the Campbell Camp No. 488 of the United Confederate Veterans at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri.  The volume includes the constitution and bylaws, minutes of meetings, lists of members, and miscellaneous papers.

Campbell Camp No. 488 was organized at Springfield on 6 March 1894.  The records of the camp in this volume consist primarily of minutes of meetings, beginning with the organizational meeting and continuing through 4 June 1904.  Among the topics addressed in the minutes are the admission of members to the Confederate Home at Higginsville, Missouri, the maintenance of the Confederate Cemetery at Springfield and the erection of a suitable monument there, and the observance of Memorial Day.  The local chapters of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the United Daughters of the Confederacy often cooperated with the Campbell Camp in these endeavors.

Tipped-in at the end of the volume are miscellaneous papers dating to May 1915.  They include eulogies for deceased comrades and papers concerning state pensions for Confederate veterans.  A list of selected contents has been filmed at the front of the volume.
