This is the program for the “Twenty-First Annual Meet” of the High School Athletic and Oratorical Association for Southeast Missouri, held at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on 23-24 April 1926.

 

The two-day “meet,” held at Southeast Missouri State Teachers College, attracted contest­ants from 35 towns and 16 counties in southeastern Missouri.  Competitions were held in “Public Speaking” (Declamatory, Extempore Debate, News Writing, Historical Essay, and Agriculture), “Music” (Voice, Piano, Glee Club, Mixed Quartets, Music Appreciation, and Violin), “Typewrit­ing,” “Shorthand,” and, in athletics, “Track and Field.”  The names of the entrants are included for each event, along with the topics in the oratorical categories.  Listings for the athletic events in­clude regional and national records.

 

The twenty-page booklet contains advertising from local businesses as well as the “Official Programme” of the meet.
