These are directories, calendars, bylaws, and calling cards for the Masonic organizations at Bolivar in Polk County, Missouri.  Included are officers’ directories for 1889 and 1900, membership booklets for 1950, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1959, and 1960, bylaws for 1956, and five calling cards.

The officers’ directories for 1889 and 1900 are printed on cardboard fold-overs.  The card for 1889 is for Bolivar Lodge No. 195, A.F. & A.M. (chartered on 19 October 1867), only.  It lists officers, members of committees, and a schedule of meetings.  The card for 1900 also includes lists of officers for Bolivar Chapter No. 5, Royal Arch Masons (chartered on 14 October 1877), St. Elmo Commandery No. 43, Knights Templar (chartered on 6 May 1884), and Mizpah Chapter No. 230, Order of the Eastern Star (chartered on 19 March 1892), along with meeting dates for each organization.

The booklets for 1950, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1959, and 1960 include full membership lists for the organizations named above, with Bolivar Assembly No. 146 of the Social Order of the Beauceant (chartered on 29 March 1950) also included for 1953 and later years.  The booklets also include names of members who died in the previous year, and the meeting dates of the individual organizations.  The booklets for 1953 and later years also have meeting dates for other A.F. & A.M. lodges and O.E.S. chapters in the area.

The bylaws are for Bolivar Lodge No. 195, and were revised in 1956.  Bolivar Lodge No. 41 was chartered on 9 June 1863, but its charter was “surrendered” in 1863.  “The present [1956] altar in the Lodge is the one used in old Bolivar Lodge No. 41.”

The calling cards are for Flavius A. Affleck, T. H. B. Dunnegan, Thomas Greer, J. G. Simpson, and John W. Weaver.  Simpson’s card was printed for the “Triennial Conclave, K.T.,” held at Boston, Massachusetts, in 1895.
