This is a booklet published to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the First Baptist Church in Clinton in Henry County, Missouri.

The First Baptist Church of Clinton, Missouri, was organized on 16 September 1866.  This 20-page booklet was published for the congregation’s centennial commemoration on 16-18 September 1966.  It includes names, and some photographs, of founders, pastors, and church leaders; a history of the congregation; the program for the centennial celebration; and illustrations of the former and current church building.  Mrs. John Simmons was chairman of the centennial committee.

Speakers during the three-day centennial commemoration included Rev. Robert Eberting of St. Joseph, Mo., Rev. S. Richard Wallis of Kansas City, Mo., Rev. Elwood Kelley of Richmond, Mo., Rev. E. B. Calvin of Kansas City, Mo., Rev. Wendel Mosser of Ankeny, Iowa, Rev. Jack Borum of Winterset, Iowa, and Dr. Earl Forderhase of St. Louis, Mo.  An interesting fact concerning the founding membership of the congregation in 1866 is that it included one “Martha Hudson (colored).”
