This is a brochure for “Tom’s Monkey Jungle,” a roadside zoo located near Eldon in Miller County, Missouri.

 

“Tom’s Monkey Jungle” was situated on United States Highway 54 about ten miles north of Bagnell Dam and the Lake of the Ozarks.  The attraction catered to the family tourist trade, fea­turing such exotic and “non-threatening” animals as coati mundi, Asian deer, “honey bears,” capy­bara, otters, and several species of monkeys.

 

The brochure is undated, but it appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s.
