This is a program for the “73rd Annual Celebration” of the “S. E. Mo. Odd Fellow Association,” held at Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, on 26 April 1892.
This all-day event began with receptions for “visiting Brothers at the Depot and Steamboat Landing,” and concluded with a “Display of Fire Works” at nightfall. In between were a “General Assembly at Court House,” a “Grand March” to the “Normal School,” and an address there by Maj. James B. Dennis, followed by an oration by the Hon. H. N. Phillips.
David Rusk of Charleston was President of the Association, which consisted of members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows from throughout southeastern Missouri. Other officers included Val. Schlesinger and J. H. Tetley of Fredericktown and J. T. Baldwin of Ironton. Other committeemen hailed from Cape Girardeau, De Soto, Poplar Bluff, and Bismarck. The Master of Ceremonies was W. V. Leech and the Grand Marshal was Henry A. Astholz. The Mayor of Cape Girardeau, H. P. Peironnet, delivered the welcoming address prior to the Grand March.
