This is an addition to the records of the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge No. 97 in Joplin, Jas­per County, Missouri (see WHMC-Rolla collection R558).  Included are registers of officers and members, min­utes of meetings, and financial records.

 

Joplin Lodge No. 97 was organized on 7 April 1892.  It continued into 1991, when the Lodge was consolidated with Blendville Lodge No. 298.  The Blendville Lodge, organized in 1901, had been closely associated with the Joplin Lodge.

 

The records in this collection are a continuation of earlier records of the Joplin Lodge (WHMC-Rolla collection R558), continuing through consolidation with Blendville.  The entries in the register of members begin in 1950, and some of the entries in the ledger containing individual membership accounts continue through 1995.  The last meeting of the Joplin Lodge, as recorded in the minute book, occurred on 17 January 1991.  The Joplin Lodge seems to have had only five ac­tive members on that date, after which they became members of the Blendville Lodge.
