This is a typewritten letter from Fred M. Hauck at Fort Lewis, Washington, to Chester Parker at Camp Haan, California. Hauck and Parker were U.S. Army enlisted men from Dixon in Pulaski County, Missouri.

In this letter of 19 October 1942 Corp. Tech. 5^th Grade Fred M. Hauck wrote to his friend Pvt. Chester “Park” Parker about life in the Army and mutual friends and acquaintances. Hauck was hoping to be accepted to Officers Candidate School and land a slot in the Postal Section.
