OVERSIZE
These are enrollment and attendance records for Reed Creek School near Banner in northern Iron County, Missouri. Also included
are recommendations and remarks concerning individual students, but not their
grades.
The rural Reed Creek School
District
had an enrollment of over 40 at the beginning of these records in 1933, but it
had fallen to less than 20 by the time of their close in 1941. The records for 1933 to 1939 are contained in
a dedicated, oversized, volume devoted to Welch’s
System, Combining Attendance, Classification, Gradation and Close Supervision. The records for the school term of 1940-1941
consist of loose reporting sheets, one for each month from September 1940
through April 1941.
The teachers at the school were Arlene Babcock
(1933-1934, 1936-1937), Willard Hanson (1934-1935, 1935-1936), and Ethel McCall
(1937-1938, 1938-1939, and 1940-1941).
There are no records for 1939-1940.
The volume also contains a “Record of Visitors” and monthly summaries
for August and September 1933 and the school term of 1937-1938 only.
