These are four issues of The Mirror: Reflections from the Sports, Entertainment and Other Fronts, from 1952 and 1953.  Edited by Paul Stubblefield, The Mirror was published weekly at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri.  It contained television schedules, listings for dances, concerts, meetings, recreational activities and sporting events, and advertisements for local businesses.

The Mirror was published as a small booklet of 16 to 20 pages.  It contained information about entertainment and recreation in the Joplin area, with occasional commentary by the editor.  The available issues are:

Volume       Number                  Date

    II                 16                        06 December 1952

    II                 19                        27 December 1952

    II                 20                        03 January 1953

   III                 14                        21 November 1953

The Mirror included motion picture schedules, descriptions of entertainment at local night clubs and dance halls, and television schedules.  In late 1952 only two television stations, one from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one from Kansas City, Missouri, were available in Joplin.  By late 1953 a third station, from Springfield, Missouri, had been added.

Paul Stubblefield was born on 4 September 1917 and died in Joplin on 22 June 1989.  He noted in The Mirror that he had been appointed business manager of the minor-league Joplin Miners baseball team for 1953.
