These are published booklets containing the minutes of annual meetings of the Barry County Baptist Association, held at Cassville, Missouri, in 1937 and 1945.

The Barry County Baptist Association held its first annual meeting in 1884.  The Association was comprised of Baptist churches in “Barry and adjoining counties” in southwestern Missouri.  These minutes are for the 54th (3-4 August 1937) and 62nd (8-9 August 1945) annual meetings of the Association.  Charles Vanzandt of Exeter, Missouri, served as moderator for both meetings.

Included in the published record are the order of business, reports from committees, names of members deceased in the previous year, and lists of member congregations with statistics and names of leaders.  There were over thirty churches in the Association, most of them rural in nature.  The oldest congregation was Bethel (organized in 1853) and the largest congregation was at the county seat in Cassville.

At the meeting in 1945 a “proposed new constitution” was presented to the delegates, in which the name of the organization was changed to Barry County Missionary Baptist Association.
