This is a “souvenir booklet” for Swindle College School near Corsicana in Barry County, Missouri.  It was presented by teacher Agnes Hazel to her pupils at the “close of school” on 19 March 1926.

Swindle College School was a public school housed in the former Swindle College, a rural subscription academy founded by “Professor” John Swindle in 1882.  It was located near Corsicana, northeast of Wheaton, in northwestern Barry County.  By 1955 Swindle College School had been closed and incorporated into the Wheaton consolidated school district.

In 1926 Swindle College School had an enrollment of 37 students, ten of who shared the surname, Garrison.  There were also six Cochrans, four Overtons, and three Reeds.  Other surnames included Allman, Howerton, Roller, and Sapp.  The teacher was Agnes Hazel, whose photographic portrait is attached to the inside front cover of the booklet.  The school board consisted of F. C. Roller, P. L. Decocq, and E. E. Rodgers.  In addition to the names of the teacher, school board, and students, the booklet includes several inspirational poems.
