This is a program booklet for the second annual Cuba Community Fair, held at Cuba in Crawford County, Missouri, on 8-11 September 1948.  The fair was sponsored by the Cuba Civic Club and its Auxiliary.

This 72-page booklet provides a schedule, lists of officers, and rules for exhibitions at the “second annual” Cuba Community Fair.  Sponsored by the Cuba Civic Club and the Cuba Civic Club Auxiliary, the fair was held at the Cuba City Park on 8-11 September 1948.  George K. Walker was chairman of the fair committee.  The booklet includes many advertisements for local businesses in addition to information about the fair.

As was typical of many “county fairs,” the Cuba Community Fair featured exhibitions, or competitions, concerning many areas of rural life.  Entrants were accepted from Crawford “and adjoining” counties.  There were both open and 4-H divisions, in categories such as livestock, agriculture, education, and home economics.  Modest premiums were awarded to the winning entrants.  There was also a flower show under the auspices of the Ozark Garden Club and a horse show and pulling contest.  Carnival rides and a midway were furnished by American Beauty Shows, with free entertainment by “The Pair of Kings” (Porter Woolsey and Vince Marin), who were professional gymnasts.
