R         Rolla (Mo.).

913                  Photographs, ca. 1950s.

                                    One folder.

These are five black and white photographs of Rolla in Phelps County, Missouri.  They include views of the interior of the Pennant Tavern, the parts department and employees of the Ford dealership, the delivery trucks of Tucker Dairy, and a parade on Pine Street.

The donor indicated that he may have gotten the photographs from Diehl Montgomery, a Rolla businessman who operated the Pennant Tavern on Route 66 in Rolla after World War Two, and who purchased the Ford and Mercury dealership from M. L. “Bud” Klinefelter about 1950.  Montgomery operated the dealership at Highway 66 (now Bishop Avenue) and 7th Street until his retirement about 1990.  Montgomery’s connection to the photographs of the Tucker Dairy and Pine Street parade, if any, is not known.

The photographs have been copied on 35mm black and white negatives.
